My wife, Bobbi and I are eager to share how God has carried us on an amazing journey to plant a church in Southeast Santa Rosa. From first hearing the call to be a Pastor in January of 1997 (Acts 20:24), to watching in wonder as God has led us through doors only He could have opened to bringing us to the threshold of this dream has been nothing short of a testimonial to the Sovereign grace of Holy Creator.

Since being born again in 1996, I have witnessed the Lord heal and strengthen our marriage, walk us through the gift of giving a child to another couple through surrogacy, prepare our hearts to be foster-parents to over 50 children in Sonoma County, and allow us the blessing of adopting our now five-year-old Izaya, four-year-old Zoe, and her biological nine-year-old brother, Noah (Noah and Zoe’s adoption will not be complete until the summer of 2008).
In addition, God directed us in 2006 to open an in-home child care facility that would lead us to organizations that have been providing financial support for Bobbi to complete the necessary college courses that will allow us to open a Child Care Center as part of the church.

My journey from New and Used Car Salesman to Sales Manager to leaving the auto industry in December of 2006 in order to become a full-time pastor is quite a story in itself. Together, our stories represent a testimony to how God does not call the equipped, but rather equips those He calls (Ephesians 4:11-12).

As a blended family (Brian and Bobbi both have the consequences of divorce in their past) consisting of my three children from my first marriage, Bobbi’s two children from her own first marriage, and the three adopted children, the Chock family has been uniquely equipped by God to minister to a growing community with a higher percentage of blended families and single parent homes.

Statistics also reveal that there are no Child Care facilities in the entire 95407 area code of Santa Rosa. Bobbi and I believe that God has given us the vision of a facility that would serve as a Child Care center for 40-50 kids during the weekdays and a place for Bible Study, an evangelistic center, and a house of worship in the evenings and weekends.

The end goal (and mission statement) of Foundation Christian Fellowship is to be “Building a Better Body in Christ” (Ephesians 2:19-20). I believe that my wife and I are a living testimony to how a life built on the solid foundation of Jesus Christ will transform one’s existence and bring purpose and meaning to one’s life. Living your life as God intended will also build a better church body—one that will be worthy of being known as the bride of Christ (Ephesians 5:22-32); a church that will serve its own and others, as well as equip the body to spread the Good News of God’s Saving Grace to the community it is called to serve.

Gateway Christian Church (where Bobbi and I have been members since the church was founded in 1996, and where I am currently employed), in conjunction with Stadia: New Church Strategies and their local 101 Church Planters’ Network (an association of Christian Churches along the Highway 101 corridor from San Rafael to Cloverdale), are partnering with us to launch Foundation Christian Fellowship.

This partnership will provide seed (start-up) money, clerical support and oversight as Foundation Christian Fellowship is birthed and moves from infancy to adulthood.
So, how can you be used by God to help in the launching of Foundation Christian Fellowship? You can begin by praying (Ephesians 6:18-20)!

Pray that the power of the Holy Spirit will continue to lead us and guide us in advancing the message of Christ and transforming lives in Southeast Santa Rosa. Please add us to your prayer list! We need prayer warriors.
